Hauling Ass

If you've gotten on an airplane any time in the last 10 years you know the airlines are doing their best to battle the obesity epidemic in the USA: tiny seats, no legroom, inedible food that you now have to pay through the nose for.

I thought they were just noble humanitarians with a deep caring for public health, but it turns out there's money in it for them.
Through the 1990s, the average weight of Americans increased by 10 pounds, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The extra weight caused airlines to spend $275 million to burn 350 million more gallons of fuel in 2000 just to carry the additional weight of Americans, the federal agency estimated in a recent issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
I think they'll probably have to make the seats smaller and charge more, though. They can't possibly make the food any worse.

or have a height weight scale at he airport and charge the fatties extra for flying.

kinda like when they charge you more when your bag weighs over 50 lbs.

granted at 6'0 and 219 lbs as of Saturday afternoon I'd probably be one of those folks paying, but maybe they'd make exception for people who are athletic and obviously not fat fucks with no self respect or self-control.
