Today driving into work I heard a quote from Sen. Max Baucus saying that this is our only chance to fix healthcare, or something like that. I've heard that from our Dear Leader as well - if we don't do it now-now-now without thinking overmuch on the topic we'll all be dead.
If something is really that broken, wouldn't more than half of the room want it fixed?

If it is so time sensitive, why doesn't it kick in until 2013? Second term thoughts?
Why is this the only chance to fix health care?
Hasn't Congress tried to fix health care before? I think that it has been attempted several times before, so obviously this attempt isn't unique.
Oh, wait! This is about the only chance that a single party has near enough sitting congressfolks to potentially pass the legislation without any compromises to the other party. Otherwise, they'd have to actually work out some sort of bipartisan bill that might satisfy more than just their base.
WTF? Do they think we're stupid?
Yes. Yes they do.
Of course it's our only change to fix healthcare. If we don't fix it now, it might have kittens or something.
